Ever wondered what the world’s most favourite characters are ? Well, the all time list goes as follows:
10. THE GRINCH
Created
by Dr.Seuss in 1966, the Grinch is characterized as a cave-dweller who lives in
seclusion and attempts to ruin
Christmas and its grand festivities. He later becomes selfless and a favourite
of the Whos at Whoville by promoting the true meaning of Christmas.
9. GOKU
Goku is a martial art hero from the Dragon
Ball Z series, a Japanese anime in which characters fight each other for
balls which have magical powers. He has been a rage among the kids since 1989.
8. FRED
FLINTSTONE
The head of a family from the Stone Age, Fred
features in the Flintstones, popular since the 1960s. Though he does not have
enough brains for his schemes and a bad temper, he loves his family very much.
He has provided several generations a yabba dabba doo time !!
7. POPEYE THE
SAILOR
Starting way back in 1933, Popeye has been
a huge hit as he tries to win his love Olive, only to see Bluto desperately
stopping him from doing so, every time. Popeye is a versatile guy who seems to
have a solution to every problem. Children love it when he wins and their
mothers use him as bait when they want them to eat healthy SPINACH.
Zoinks! Starting in 1969, the Scooby gang
has solved the mystery of longevity for five decades now. Against odds, the dog
has been the most successful detective as fortune favors him time and again.
5. WILE E. COYOTE
Probably the second most sympathized
character in the cartoon world after Tom, Coyote has been known for his witty, but misfiring
schemes and methods since 1948. We never want Coyote to catch the ROAD RUNNER,
but we always feel bad for him.
4. HOMER
SIMPSON
We're still not exactly sure where Springfield is, but we feel right at
home at 742 Evergreen Terrace, which belongs to the Simpsons. As for Homer Simpson, he is not a father who
knows best, but he certainly tries to be one. He was and has been one of the
favourites since 1989.
3. TOM & JERRY
Having been the most successful pair for 70+ years, an explanation is definitely not needed for
this classic , which has influenced numerous other cartoons.Though Tom and Jerry has had many
incarnations, beginning with the Academy award-winning MGM shorts in the 1940s
to the most recent episodes in Cartoon Network, the chase is yet to cease...
2. BUGS BUNNY
Bugs Bunny, the Looney Tunes’ rabbit, is probably the most recognizable of all cartoon characters. His cheeky character has made him a favourite of several generations since 1960. ‘What’s up, Doc ? ’ is one line, which no kid would forget.
1. MICKEY
MOUSE
It
was with Steamboat White in 1928 that Mr. Mickey Mouse, the brainchild of the
great Walt Disney started his life in black and white. Mickey represents Disney
in all its forms. He is the only cartoon star to feature on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame. From then till now, Mickey has not been just a character, but an
ICON of the cartoon world.
