Scene I
Scene I
As
the scene opens, the Titanic has conveniently lodged itself into an iceberg in
the algid Atlantic for our event. She is sinking and she is sinking fast.
Aboard the ship are celebrities such as yourself and the only saving grace in
this dire life or death situation is a single life jacket in the hands of the
Captain.
Certainly
you won't be an unsung hero if you draw your last breath today, but you know you
can contribute more to the libretto of the songs that'll be sung about you
after your time. The US President,Oprah and Jackie Chan are your good friends
but you know that the world needs you more and the world, as people know it,
would come to an end sans your existence. Surely you can't let that happen for
the sake of humanity, can you now? What should you do?
You
can't grab the jacket from the Captain's hand when he's not looking and make a
swim for it only because, this is a literary event and we can't let you do
that.
(The
Ocean has engulfed half the ship already whilst you were busy contemplating
such schemes in your brain…no pressure.)
So
what then, can you do?
Talk
as if your life depends on it ( oh wait, your life does depend on it) and
persuade him to hand out the last remaining lifesaver to you.
Put
to rest the doubts in his mind regarding your calibre or end up being put to
rest on the ocean floor.
Ok,
I think I have created more than enough hype to get you in the mood.
Enter
<insert character name>
<insert
emotion-charged, soul-stirring dialogues>
Exeunt
<character> hopefully with a life-jacket and some booty.
Will
you have a Scene II or will Scene I be your last performance in the stage that
is life?
Find
out in Shipwreck, Instincts 2k14. See ya there!
Peace
out.
