INSTINCTS 2014 - It arrived, it entertained and it was over before anyone realised that it actually was. The enthusiasm and the positive vibes seen across the three days, filled our hearts with joy. INSTINCTS saw those budding SHAKESPEAREs, THE MICHAEL JACKSONs, the THIRUVALLUVARs, some astounding reelists, energetic dancers, rocktars, creative minds and many more. There were those resounding moments of success, the minor hiccups, and of course the tears of failure. It was heart warming to see the Alumni come in high spirits, to watch the proceedings and to be a part of INSTINCTS 2014. The magnanimity of the fest, satisfied and delighted everyone and will be among their best memories.

The process that started roughly 3 months ago, had ripened into this sweet fruit. The days when we doubted our calibre to do noteworthy things are now gone, as we now know what we are capable of doing. Though this marks the end of our stint with INSTINCTS, the joy, the friendship and the wonderful memories will always stay with us. On behalf of the whole INSTINCTS Team, we would like to thank all the juniors and the faculty who have in different means and roles, joined hands with us in sculpting this massive success.

We would like to wish our juniors the very best for their ventures. 

I feel extremely glad to have worked with this team which has been the think-tank behind everything you read here.

UPDATE - DAY 3

Time flies. The last and final day of INSTINCTS 2k14 was upon us before we realised it. The day started off with the general and spent quiz Prelims that saw a huge turn out of veteran quizzers and novices. The know-it-alls were given a tough time, and the events went on spotlessly. The main stage had the street battle competition underway. 

The contest, judged by acclaimed international dance celebrities proved to be a crowd pleasing event that made the audience gawk and gasp at the stunts performed by the participants.  The Tamil Pattimandram, which had SUN TV fame Mr.Ramalingam as the judge and had a very lively topic about relationships, drew cheers and claps from each and every corner of the Main Auditorium. It was followed by the valedictory of SAARAL THAMIZH MANDRAM.

               

Then came the signature event of the day. The CELEBRITY VARIETY SHOW. With heavy weights lined-up, expectations were huge. The laughter juggernaut rolled on and on as the cast ROBOSHANKAR, VADIVEL BALAJI, ARAVINDH, TRICHY SARAVANAN and others gave non-stop entertainment for around three and a half hours. The crowd couldn't just hold on to their seats, nor could they prevent showing all their teeth off. 


The evening had in it, the Choreonite, called BOOGIETOWN this time. This night had both college and 

professional team performing. They were all phenomenally talented and held the audience spellbound. The judges had a tough time choosing the winners, which were SRM EASWARI in the college category and ALL FOR ONE in the professionals.

 

No last day of INSTINCTS is complete without the final speech by the student convenor. Rakkesh.G took centrestage to thank every single member that worked towards making INSTINCTS 2k14 the biggest show the college has seen so far..

Extremely pleasing was the turnout and the response we had for INSTINCTS this year. The smiles, the handshakes and the few celebrations filled the air with happiness and satisfaction. We hope the trend continues to be the same in years to come.

DAY 2

Day 2 had EVERYONE in the college cheering for the variety show and battle for the best voice - SSN Idol. We've never seen the auditorium brim with SUCH energy! It was an overwhelming experience. The turnout was huge for the light music band event, and so it was for the BIKE STUNT SHOW, which was scheduled for the evening. The burning rubber and the engine roars filled the air as the stunt artists went about their job with absolute ease and professionalism. 

The other events which marked the day, included those of the English Literary Club, Instrumental Music, Solo Classical Dancing and thoseof the FineArts.  INSTINCTS 2014 saw the best of REELS OF FIRE. The celebrity attendance was unimaginable as ace directors Dharani, Prabhu Solomon, P.Ramesh and editor Leo John Paul judged the short films and gave away the prizes.

 

 

This was followed by our signature event, The Vogue Show.  The participants set the temperatures high with their glamorous performance on the ramp.

The day came to the perfect end with DJ Night, which, though had the clock hands at 10:30pm,  possibly had the best of turn-outs.
